Huawei’s 8.4-inch tablet has Harman Kardon-signed sound

BERLIN — Quick, what’s the most important feature you want from a tablet? I’m guessing it’s either better battery life or a better screen, with sound likely being an afterthought. But sound is what Huawei focused on in its new, 8.4-inch Android tablet just shown at an event in Berlin.  


It’s called the MediaPad M3, and Huawei partnered with Harman Kardon for the tablet’s 1W stereo speakers, while another company from the world of hi-fi, AKG, has been responsible for designing the accompanying H300 earphones. Huawei added a bit of its own software tweaking to the mix; one feature that stands out is the tablet’s automatic choice of the best sound settings, depending on whether you’re listening to music or watching video.
